Monochrome

Not everyone loves black and white photography.  I know some that say that it's lifeless because there is no color or depressing even because there is no color.  I love photos in blank and white because for me it distills the image down into the basic elements of lines, shapes, forms, light and dark.  Without color and no modern point of reference in the photo there is a sense of timelessness to the images.  I try to use my black and white conversions to highlight elements within the composition that would otherwise be overlooked or minimized if they were in color.  For those of you that do not appreciate the monochrome image perhaps some of these can make you look at them in a different light.

Remember prints are available for all my images through the Fine Art America website. Here is a sample of some of my favorites.
